The 19th Hole bar – Marella Explorer Cruise Ship

Tile Fire recently produced and fitted some beautiful tiles for a new bar ‘The 19th Hole’ on the Marella Explorer 2 Cruise Ship.

The 19th Hole

The Marella Explorer 2 is a new cruise ship welcomed by Tui this year. It is the sister ship to the first Marella Explorer with a lot of the same features, except one thing – its reserved for adults. It boasts 14 decks, 907 cabins, 9 Restaurants and 10 bars. The ship has a long list of swanky features including a Broadway Show Lounge, Indigo Casino, an open-air cinema and a Champneys spa.

The 19th Hole Bar

The 19th Hole is a clubhouse inspired bar which boasts a flamboyant golf theme that has themed cocktails, craft beers, golf simulators and even golf buggy seating. The bright and funky tiles fit in perfectly with the fun and quirky design of the bar. They have a unique diamond shape which looks incredibly stylish and makes them really stand out. The Marella Explorer approached Tile Fire asking for the diamond shaped tiles to fit in with the colours of the bar, orange, blue and white. To ensure the colours matched perfectly, Tile Fire used the pantone reference numbers of each colour requested when making the tiles.

Bar tiles

Over the past few years Tile Fire have worked with a number of different cruise ships, creating bespoke and eye-catching designs for their bars and restaurants. Firstly, they produced tiles for the seafood restaurant ‘Hooked’ on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas. The restaurant has a nautical theme and Tile Fire created some beautiful white tiles with numerous sea creatures printed on to them which gave the restaurant a unique and memorable grand entrance.

Tile Fire also produced an eye-catching mosaic for the bar Squid and Anchor on board the Marella Explorer. They requested two sets of mosaic floor tiles with their logo printed on them. The Squid and Anchor simply had to send over their design and Tile Fire printed it onto a mosaic mural for them. It created a statement piece that drew attention to the restaurant and its logo.
